Numen — Terms of Service & End User License Agreement (EULA)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Bilgehan Coskun ("Numen", "we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Numen mobile application (previously published under the name "Reverie") and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read them carefully.

If you are using Numen on Apple iOS via the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and is incorporated by reference (the "Apple Standard EULA"), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. Where these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA conflict, the more protective term for you as the end user applies to the extent required by Apple; otherwise these Terms govern.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Numen, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You may use Numen anonymously without creating an account; creating an optional account enables cross-device sync and is also subject to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Numen. The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that your use complies with all laws that apply to you.

3. Description of the Service

Numen is a private dream-journaling and reflection app. You can record a dream or "vision" — by typing or by speaking — and receive a gentle, AI-generated reflective "reading." You can tag entries (for example, with emotions, symbols, people, or places) and optionally generate a dreamlike AI image inspired by your entry.

Numen offers several interpretation "lenses," including Psychological (Jungian-inspired), Spiritual, Islamic (taʿbīr-inspired), and Christian (Biblically-resonant). These lenses shape the tone and framing of a reading; they do not change the nature of the reading, which is always reflective and suggestive ("may reflect"), never definitive ("means").

Numen is local-first: your journal entries and settings live on your device. Content is sent to the cloud only as needed to provide the Service (for example, to generate a reading or image), and journal entries are stored in our cloud only if you create an account and enable sync. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is processed and stored.

The Service is available in multiple languages, including English, Turkish, and Arabic. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

4. AI Content Disclaimer — please read

Readings, reflections, and images in Numen are generated by automated AI systems and are provided for personal reflection, journaling, and entertainment only. They are inherently uncertain, may be inaccurate or inconsistent, and should never be relied upon as fact or guidance.

By design and without exception:

• Not medical, psychological, or clinical advice. Numen is not a healthcare provider, therapist, or counselor. Nothing in the Service is a diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or professional mental-health advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something you read in Numen.
• Not a religious ruling. The faith lenses are devotional and cultural in spirit, not authoritative. The Islamic lens is taʿbīr-inspired reflection and is explicitly NOT a fatwa or religious ruling. The Christian lens is Biblically-resonant reflection and is explicitly NOT church doctrine or a theological determination. For religious guidance, consult a qualified scholar, clergy member, or trusted authority in your tradition. To respect these traditions, faith-lens images are composed with reverence and avoid depicting the Prophet or the divine.
• Not professional advice of any kind — including legal, financial, or safety advice — and not a substitute for professional help.

Not a crisis or medical service. Numen offers symbolic reflections for personal insight. It is not therapy, medical advice or a crisis service, and its readings are not predictions. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. When the app recognises that a dream may carry such thoughts, it shows crisis resources instead of a reading. Contact your local emergency number, or a crisis line such as 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US/Canada) or 112 (the emergency number in Türkiye). You can find international crisis resources at https://findahelpline.com. Numen is not an emergency service and cannot help in an emergency.

You are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on content from the Service.

5. Your Content and Acceptable Use

"Your Content" means the dreams, visions, text, tags, and voice recordings you submit to the Service.

You are responsible for Your Content and for your conduct on the Service. You agree not to submit, request, or attempt to generate any content that:

• Sexually exploits or endangers minors, or constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM);
• Is graphic sexual or pornographic content;
• Depicts or glorifies graphic violence or gore;
• Promotes, instructs, or encourages self-harm, suicide, or harm to others (including weapons or attack instructions);
• Is hateful, harassing, or that demeans people based on protected characteristics;
• Is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or violates these Terms or applicable law.

To enforce this and to protect users, Your Content is screened by an automated moderation step before interpretation or illustration. We may block, refuse to process, remove, or limit content, and may suspend or terminate accounts, that we reasonably believe violate this section — with or without notice. Automated moderation is imperfect; we do not guarantee that all prohibited content will be detected or that all permitted content will pass.

6. License to Your Content

You retain all ownership of Your Content. To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, display, and create automated outputs from Your Content solely to provide and maintain the Service for you — for example, to send your text or voice to our AI providers for transcription and interpretation, to generate and store images, and to sync your entries across your devices if you have an account. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for backups or copies that take a reasonable time to purge and content we must retain to comply with law.

You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.

7. Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal, and Payments

Free tier. Numen's journaling features — recording, tagging, and organizing your dreams — are usable without payment. AI features (readings, voice transcription, and image generation) require a Premium subscription. The app's onboarding includes a curated, pre-generated demo so you can see what readings look like before subscribing.

Premium. Numen offers an auto-renewable Premium subscription that unlocks AI readings, voice transcription, and a weekly AI image allowance (currently 20 images per week on the Annual and Weekly plans, and 3 per week on the Lite plan) and related benefits. Premium is offered in plans such as Annual, Weekly and Lite, and may include discounted retention or win-back offers. Unused weekly images do not carry over; the allowance renews each Monday.

Fair use. Readings are unlimited for personal use, subject to fair use. To keep the service running for everyone, we may pause new readings for an account that requests more than 50 readings in a week, until the following Monday. Readings you already have stay available. Prices are shown in the app at the point of purchase and are set in the App Store / Google Play for your region.

Billing and auto-renewal. Subscriptions are sold and billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account (subscriptions are managed via RevenueCat; we never see or store your card details). By subscribing, you authorize the applicable store to charge your payment method:

• Your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel it.
• It auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

Manage or cancel. You can view, manage, and cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your store account settings:

• iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
• Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds. Except where required by the app store's policies or by applicable law, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial periods. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple; for Google Play purchases, by Google.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service — including the Numen name, app, software, design, and content we provide (excluding Your Content) — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and any store rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law. As between you and us, AI images generated for you from Your Content are yours to use for personal purposes; you are responsible for ensuring such use is lawful.

9. Disclaimers of Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR SUITED TO ANY PURPOSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY AI OUTPUT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 50. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Numen and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Section 13 and the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law or by an app store, or to protect the Service or its users. On termination, the licenses granted to you end. Sections that by their nature should survive — including 4, 6 (final sentence), 8–11, and 14 — survive termination.

13. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account from within the app (Settings → Delete my data). Doing so erases your server-side journal entries, settings, generated images, your credit-ledger entry, and your sign-in (Cognito) user record. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account (Section 7). If you use Numen anonymously, your data lives only on your device and is removed by deleting the app. You can also request deletion without the app at our account-deletion page (linked from the Support page) or by emailing appfactory.acc@gmail.com. 14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you and we submit to the courts of Türkiye, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring claims in your place of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights you have under local law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Apple-Specific Terms

If you obtained Numen through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. The Apple Standard EULA (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) applies as described at the top of this document.
